West Windsor celebrated its 200th anniversary in 1997. West Windsor is a rural community that has evolved from its farming heritage to a bustling area for businesses and residential properties alike. Probably best known nationally for the Grover's Mill section (as the landing site of the Martians in Orson Welles' radio drama), it is swiftly becoming known as the home of major corporations.

Princeton Junction is the portion of the township where the train station is located. The ease of commuting to the larger metropolitan cities of New York and Philadelphia has caused the transformation of the West Windsor area into commuter heaven.

In addition to the Princeton Junction train station, access to major thoroughfares is convenient. The West Windsor / Plainsboro Regional School District has gained a reputation for excellence. Numerous new school buildings have been constructed to house the rapidly growing number of students.

Princeton Junction, Dutch Neck, Grover's Mill, Edinburg, Clarksville and Penn's Neck have survived the evolution to modern communities while maintaining their colonial character. All of these areas are now in the West Windsor zip code thus consolidating under one name the small villages that have for so long graced the landscape of the West Windsor township.
